My family and friends have used the cr*p out of this pruner.At least 10 years without a hitch..I think the problem people are having with it coming apart is,you need to adjust the cam lock before the first use.It is a little loose from the factory.Once adjusted correctly it never needs it again and will hold tight. The saw blade is still as sharp as new(saws 5-6" branches with ease) and the pruner cutter still cuts through up to 1 1/2 " branches like butter,just give it a good hard snap on the cord.My tiny 5'-2" wife uses it all the time . My advice is after you've bought your own ,hide it because everyone will want to borrow it.Yes it is that nice and easy to use.
