Reviews: Fiskars 9461 16-Foot Power Lever Tree Pruner
I have oak, cherry, and other hardwood tress in my yard. As they grew and took over, I considered having tree maintenance come and trim them for me, but the price and fast growers made me consider doing it myself.
Amazon has a promotion for 8-36% off of fiskars tree pruner. with free shipping.

Got the job done!
Reviews: Fiskars 9461 16-Foot Power Lever Tree Pruner
With the house next door being vacant for 4+ years and no one to take care of the yard, the giant oak in the front yard has continued to grow to the point where its limbs were touching the eaves of my house (second story) as well as the roof. Since the limbs needing trimming were at least 12' up, I knew I couldn't rely on my existing tools to trim them back. After a short search, I came across this 14' pole saw. Priced well below many other offerings, I decided to give this item a try. I'm really glad I did.

next best thing to a professional tree trimmer
Reviews: Fiskars 9461 16-Foot Power Lever Tree Pruner
I found it impossible to find any trimmer over 12' in the stores and was elated to find a quality manufacturer with a 16' length. It is well built and easy to use as there are two extending sections, so the trimmer can be used for shorter heights as well.

Lifetime warranty Great pruner

So I broke these within 30 minutes of using them but I think it was my fault. I had them extended to the max and when I clipped on branch it kind of kept ahold of it as it fell. Instead of letting the clipper fall with the branch I tried to resist somewhat naturally I guess and the pole cracked and split at the end. I just sawed off the 6 inches or so that was cracked and everything works again just fine.

Well made bit of kit

I've only used one other pole trimmer before so I am not privy to how they ALL work, but I have to say this one is VERY good. If it had a bit less flex when fully extended, I'd have given it 5 stars. Otherwise, buy with confidence that you're getting a good tool.

Weak spring

I would echo R Casengo's review, it is spot on. On my first use with the pole extended to maximum length, the flexing that was present while pulling the rope to activate the cutter on a relatively small branch was a bit ridiculous. I tried it on a very large branch and the whole thing acted more like a fishing rod than a tool, fighting me to make the cut. The bottom line is the tool can cut twigs while fully extended but rapidly loses effectiveness as the branch size increases. As the pole is retracted it starts to become more useful at lengths below 12 feet or so.
