I bought this for ivy, on a high fence line. Within minutes it was taking down large enough sections.
For my purposes, its better to operate without the saw attachment, because the saw got hung up in the ivy.

I fount the hook and trim pruning part to be excellent, Sometimes theres some working with the string, but
like every tool theres some learning curve. Within a half hour, we pruned more ivy than we had trash room for
including some branches that were pretty thick. While the pruner cant get every branch, like some of the trunkier branches
i'm sure the saw blade will get these areas on the second pass. I was able to train a youth assistant, and was able to leave
him work unsupervised

Overall, Im very happy with this product, for a tall fence, or tree work, the extension pole is just what I needed for the job.
